Job Title: Class 1 Driver
Location: On-site in Dartmouth, NS
Work Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Salary: $25 – $28 an hour, plus 4% vacation pay added to your rate

Our client is hiring for their next Class 1 Driver to start work immediately in Dartmouth, NS!
 
What You'll Do
  • Transport freight safely and efficiently throughout the Atlantic Provinces.
  • Complete occasional overnight trips to Newfoundland and Quebec (approximately once per month).
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain accurate driver logs and documentation.
  • Follow all safety regulations, Hours of Service requirements, and company policies.
  • Communicate with dispatch and customers to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Report maintenance concerns and help keep equipment in excellent condition.
  • Represent the company professionally while delivering reliable service.
Please note: This position primarily involves highway driving and typically does not require unloading, as forklift equipment is generally available on-site.
 
What You’ll Bring
  1. Valid Class 1 Driver's Licence
  2. Clean driver's abstract and acceptable driving record
  3. Minimum 6 months of commercial tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
  4. Valid medical certificate
  5. Knowledge of Hours of Service regulations
  6. Reliable, safety-focused, and professional
  7. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional overnight trips
  8. Clean criminal background check
  9. TDG certification, manual transmission experience, and container/port experience are considered assets
