Job Title: Culinary Staff (Steward, Line Cook, Sous Chef)  
Location: Sydney, Cape Breton, NS & Antigonish, NS (On‑site) 
Work Type: Seasonal (until October 31st) 
Salary: $19.50–$24.50/hr + Tips (role‑dependent) >Vacancy: Existing vacancy

This Culinary Staff role is ideal for a professional who enjoys fast‑paced kitchen environments, solving high‑volume food preparation and service challenges, and working within a collaborative culinary team across multiple kitchens. The right person will recognize this role as a natural next step based on their current kitchen experience and comfort working with commercial cooking equipment.


What you'll do

  • Support daily kitchen operations across one of five on‑site kitchens
  • Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to culinary standards (role‑dependent)
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, and dishwashing systems
  • Maintain cleanliness and food‑safety compliance throughout all workstations
  • Collaborate with chefs and kitchen teams to meet service timelines and guest expectations


What You’ll Bring

  • Ability to complete a clean criminal record check
  • Experience operating an oven or fryer (required)
  • Previous experience in a kitchen, culinary, or food‑service environment
  • Ability to commute within a 30–45 minute radius or use provided transportation options

    Compensation by Role:
    • Steward — $19.50/hr + tips
    • Line Cook — $19.50–$22/hr + tips
    • Sous Chef — $24.50/hr + tips
  • Transportation:
    • Shuttle available to and from CBU on weekends (Thu–Sun)
    • Approximately 2‑hour drive depending on location
  • Scheduling:
    • Flexible shift options (e.g., Thu–Sun, Sun–Wed)
